Character Spotlight + Giveaway: V. Joy Palmer’s Izze & Miles

The Story:

Isabel “Izze” Vez, bridal consultant extraordinaire, has been helping brides find The Dress for years. She love-lace-and-minor-alterationsloves nothing more than helping make wedding dreams come true … but sometimes the happy endings grate on her. How many times can a girl discover someone else’s gown without dreaming of the day it’ll be her turn to wear one?

When James Miles Clayton walks into her life, he represents everything Izze can’t handle: change. He’s determined to bring the Ever After Bridal Salon into the black … and to prove to Izze that she should give him a chance.

But if there’s anything Izze handles worse than change, it’s trust. She may have a few issues—fine, she knows she does. Will they keep getting in the way of any chance of her own Happily Ever After? She wants to trust God to give her those dreams of love and lace, but that’s going to require some … minor alterations.

Meet Izze:

VANESSA MARANO Age: 25

Physical description: Super dark brown, short, curly hair. Dark brown eyes. Short, five feet and three inches.

Favorite meal: Homemade taquitos and/or any meal that includes mashed potatoes.

Resembles: Vanessa Marano, only with shorter hair.

Loves: Izze loves coffee. And sarcasm. Chick flicks. Weddings. Chocolate. And more coffee.

Hates: When she runs out of coffee. It drives her crazy when people are rude. Change.

Biggest struggle: Izze struggles with trusting anybody – friends, family, boyfriend, God – due to her past hurts. Her first response is to think the worst of people. While she knows in her head that she can trust God, she doesn’t know it in her heart.

Meet Miles:

Age: 28

Physical description: Brown hair that’s dark, but not as dark as Izze’s hair. Bright blue eyes with glasses. Dimples. Tall, about six foot and five inches.derek theler

Favorite meal: Chicken fried steak with corn, mashed potatoes, and gravy.

Resembles: Derek Theler, except a little huskier.

Loves: Being right. Arguing with Izze. Winning. Accomplishing a task or job well. Laughing.

Hates: Stubbing his toe. Rickety chairs. Realizing he was wrong.

Biggest struggle: Miles’ father was a logical minded man who drove his family away due to emotional abuse and his need for perfection and control. Due to that, Miles struggles with solving someone’s problem with pure logic instead of looking at the individuals hurts and needs.

  1. I recently watched (for the 100th time), ‘You’ve Got Mail’ and I always love that story. Joy’s book sounds fun. Thanks for the character snippets and the giveaway!
