Jack and Holman Wang have done it again! They have captured their audience, bringing to life Leo Tolstoy’s classic tale, War and Peace, with the help of beautiful needle-felted characters. The Wang brothers have masterfully condensed one of history’s longest novels into 12 toddler-friendly words, placing this classic tale of love, betrayal, and war within the grasp of a new generation of readers.
The fun and colorful illustrations are bound to bring hours of enjoyment to young readers and the adults who will share it with them. Those who have read Tolstoy’s unforgettable classic will enjoy experiencing War in Peace in a whole new way.
As an English teacher and lover of literature, I can see the potential of this book for teaching young children everything from vocabulary to story-telling skills. My only regret is that the Cozy Classics series wasn’t around when I was in its intended audience. Needless to say, I strongly recommend this delightful book.
